Liners are inexpensive to replace, but washing yours is far more sustainable. 298 Shares Pinterest Facebook MORE Comment Twitter Google+ Photography by: Lucas Allen Clean a vinyl, nylon, cotton, or hemp liner by machine-washing it in hot water and mild detergent. Then shake and rehang the liner to dry—do not place it in the dryer. Give liners a good wash at the start of every season.   Hand-wash your liner if the care label does not recommend machine-washing (or there is no care label). Take the curtain outside and scrub it with a solution of 10 parts water to one part chlorine bleach, using a plastic-bristled brush. Let it dry in the sun until any mold or discoloration has faded, then rinse. Shake well and rehang.   Prevent grime by cutting your shower liner so it does not drag on the shower floor—this will keep dust and moisture from getting trapped in it. After your shower, shake off as much water as possible, and pull the liner closed so moisture can’t collect in the folds. I was extremely happy with this shower liner at first. It feels like fabric and just glides across the rod. I was elated! Then after six weeks, I noticed mold growing all along the bottom seam. I put it in the wash expecting it to come right off. WRONG!! I washed it three times using all manner of cleaning agents (even resorted to washing soda that cleans anything!) and the mold won't budge. The label says not to use chlorine bleach as I imagine it will tear up the material, but I'm desperate now so I guess I'll try that. I'm soooo disappointed that throwing this in the wash as directed does not work. Do not buy this unless you like nasty mold growing like crazy on the bottom. Yuck!!! If I can figure out how to clean it satisfactorily, I will update this review. For now, I would say to avoid it like the plague.

So it took all of a month and mild was growing on the bottom of the curtain. Washed it in the washing machine, hand scrubbed it, then finally used the forbidden bleach and it will not come off? I'm beyond myself and will not purchase this again.
